Mail in your ballot! (just a few days left!) Jan 19 , 2010 | By Oregon WFP The Oregon Working Families Party fights for policies that support good jobs, good schools, and good healthcare for all Oregonians. A critical fight to preserve these things is coming down to the wire. Special interests have funneled millions of dollars into a misinformation campaign. But don’t let them fool you. The real issue is whether the wealthy will pay their fair share to keep our state great. We think they should, and so we encourage you to vote yes on Measures 66 and 67. Here’s how you can help: Find out about volunteer events in your area at http://voteyesfororegon.org/volunteer/ Forward this email to five friends. The revenue that these two measures will raise is necessary to prevent devastating cuts to things that all of us care about deeply. We don’t want to deprive our kids of a quality education because we can’t afford enough teachers to keep class sizes down. We don’t want to force our parents and grandparents to go without medical care because the state can no longer afford to pay for them. And we think that the burden for those necessities should be borne fairly. The special interests opposing Measures 66 and 67 claim that these are dangerous tax increases. In fact, 97.5% of Oregonians will not see their taxes go up one cent if the measures pass. In fact, people on unemployment will see their taxes go down. We think the wealthy should pay their fair share, and that is why we are asking you to vote yes on Measures 66 and 67. Please remember to mail in your ballot — it must be received by your county elections office or an official drop site location no later than 8 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 26th.
